Moisture Testing*
*Moisture Testing comes standard with every Home Inspection. This can give the client a better understanding of what lies behind those dredded lower basement walls. Here in Michigan things can get out of control quickly if moisture finds its way in.

Personal Home Inspection

This is a Standard Home Inspection done with an objective visual examination of the physical structure and systems of a house, from the roof to the foundation.

What does a home inspection include?
My standard home inspector’s report will cover the condition of the home’s heating system; central air conditioning system (temperature permitting); interior plumbing and electrical systems; the roof, attic and visible insulation; walls, ceilings, floors, windows and doors; the foundation, basement and structural components, ad well as mold and moisture observation.

Radon Testing

*Radon Testing takes 24 hours and simply requires an area of the basement to be undisturbed for that period.

What is radon?

Radon is a colorless, odorless radioactive gas that’s produced by decaying uranium. Radon present in nearly all soils, and very low levels of radon gas are found in the air we breathe every day.

Why is radon a problem?
The problem occurs when radon gas enters your home and gets trapped. Long-term exposure to high levels of radon can cause lung cancer.

How does radon gas enter a home?
Radon gas moves from the soil into a home. Although radon can seep directly through pores in concrete, the worst entry points of radon are gaps in walls and floors. Any house, of any age, in any state can have elevated radon levels. It really depends on the way your specific house interacts with the surrounding soil. Your neighbor’s radon level may differ significantly from yours.
